MAPCO to grow quality on 500 acres in coming rainy season

The Myanmar Agribusiness Public Corporation (MAPCO) is planning to plant 5000 acres under rain-fed fields this rainy season under the contract system in Twante, Dala, Kungyangone and Kawmhu townships in Yangon Region to produce pedigree paddy of quality export.

 Farmers interested in the project can contract the MAPCO office in Phaya Ngoto village, Twante Township, MAPCO said they will provide pedigree paddy seeds, chemical fertilizers and farming implements.Moreover, MAPCO will buy paddy at a fair price as stipulated in the contract. Farmers can gain profits and assistance under the system.The company will receive and sell good quality paddy in advance,”said U Ye Min Aung, the Managing Director of MAPCO.

The above townships such as Twante, Dala, Kungyangon and Kawhmu grow monsoon paddy late,usually at the end of June.

Under this contract, they will cultivate Pawsan and Sinthwe Lat, it has been learned from MAPCO.
